With About® New Zealand Rental Cars all child seats are free for all hires.

The type of child restraint you need to use will depend on the age and size of the child. Please use the guide below to help you book the correct size Child Seat with us. As a general rule, if your child’s head is higher than the back of the child restraint, move them into the next size of child restraint. New Zealand law requires that any child under five years is properly restrained by an approved child restraint. They must not travel in the car if you can’t put them in an approved child restraint.

Please note: About New Zealand does not offer infant baby capsules. If you are travelling with an infant under 6 months please ensure you either bring your own baby capsule, or if using one of our child seats, ensure it is used in a rear-facing position.
